Look inside million-dollar featured houses on Parade of Homes

Luxury abounds in the two homes featured on this year’s Spring Parade of Homes from the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire.

It’s a $5 donation per home to tour them at the event, which runs Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds benefit the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation. In addition to the featured homes, there are more than 70 houses to see, ranging from starter homes to luxury residences.

The first featured home at 801 E. Silver Pond Place was built by Choice Builders.

It offers 6,800 square feet, five bedrooms and five bathrooms in a ranch walkout floor plan.

Homebuilders point to weather, construction costs for lagging market

“This spring has been absolutely terrible – actually the last two years I think are the wettest in history – so it’s not ideal for getting houses in the ground and started,” said Ryan Brouwer, owner of Choice Builders Inc.

Brouwer built the second featured home on the Spring Parade – a 5,000-square-foot Crafstman-style home in south Sioux Falls that features a bar, movie area, wine night hangout and game area.

“A lot of people are going more for white millwork, gold fixtures, especially in lighting. I see that quite a bit,” he said. “We’ve been doing a little more luxury glam, and this incorporates that.”

He hasn’t seen much of a change in his business for the year, taking on three or four new homes and a handful of remodeling jobs each season.

Choice Builders Parade of Homes project featured on KELOLAND News

The Spring Parade of Homes started this weekend.

It’s a busy day for some builders as people wander the rooms of some of their newest builds.

“There’s a lot of work that goes into a house like this. I couldn’t have done it without my team and also my designer,” Choice Builders owner Ryan Brouwer said.

“There’s a lot of gold finishes in here. Between light fixtures, faucet finishes, beautiful Cambria countertops, a lot of good things to see,” Brouwer said.

This home is priced at just over a million dollars and has already been bought.
